Holiday Message from Ian
It is hard to believe that Christmas is here already. Aside from all the hustle and bustle, the fun and the festivities, and the real meaning of Christmas, I often find myself thinking about some of the wonderful books and movies that bring extra meaning or thought to the spirit of Christmas. Today, I find myself thinking about the story A Christmas Carol.
Some trivia... The story was written over a six-week period in October/November of 1843. The novel was the first of five short Christmas books published by Charles Dickens. Obviously, it was the most successful novel in the series.
The thing that I find interesting is that Dickens was so certain that people would like his story that he refused to sell the rights to his publisher. Instead, Dickens paid to publish the story himself. His instincts proved correct! Soon after publication, Dickens sold every single copy.
In his later years, Dickens read an abridged version at public readings for which he charged a fee. Often, Dickens sent the fee to several charitable organizations that he was involved with throughout his lifetime. For Dickens, the book itself was instrumental in helping people and raising awareness of poverty.
Like Dickens, we (IDM) have been blessed by the popularity and success of our software. In turn, we have shared that blessing with the less fortunate by supporting numerous charities and helping people locally and around the world. We are truly thankful for the opportunity and privilege to do this. Of course, we could not do this without your support of our products. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to you for allowing us to help others around the world.
My desire for this Christmas - and I hope to inspire you to do the same - is to strive to help those that are in need. This Christmas let others know you care and are willing to help. Showing love to others is one of the best ways to celebrate Christmas.
And last but not least, for all who celebrate Christmas, remember the real meaning and keep Christ in Christmas.
Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year,
God Bless, Ian
