Convert an Excel file to CSV
A common question that comes to us in support is, "How do I create a CSV file from Excel". This isn't so much an UltraEdit question - it's more of an Excel question - but there are a lot of you who are using UltraEdit for CSV files, so this post is for you!
If your file isn't already open, open your "data" file in Excel.

Now, go to the Windows menu (or File menu if you are using pre-2007), select Save As, then Other Formats.

In the Save As dialog, type the name of your file. Now, in the Save As Type dropdown, select "CSV (MS-DOS) (*.CSV)".

Excel will prompt you that 1) CSV files do not support multiple worksheets and 2) that CSV files do not support some features compatible with your workbook. You can click "OK" and "YES" to proceed.
After saving your CSV file in Excel, open it in UltraEdit or UEStudio.

Now that you have a your file, you can use UltraEdit/UEStudio edit the CSV File.
