Christmas Message From IDM Founder and President Ian D. Mead

Ian D. Mead,
President

Each year it seems amazing how quickly time flies and already Christmas is upon us. What an exciting time!

Of course, it's always a hectic time and it can be difficult to find time to really relax and enjoy the season, but it's something we must do. We all rush around looking for gifts for everyone but sometimes miss out on reflecting upon the reason for giving, Christ's Birthday.

Last year I wrote briefly on A Christmas Carol and some of the history behind it. There is a movie however that my family and I (wonderful wife and 3 wonderful girls) watch every year: It's a Wonderful Life.

From Wikipedia: "The film stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers). Clarence shows George all the lives he has touched and the contributions he has made to his community."

Each year as I watch it, my heart is truly touched as I reflect upon the difference George Bailey made on the lives of so many. The movie shows the difference in a small town had George Bailey never been born.

What difference are we making day-by-day and year-by-year in the lives of others? Are we concentrating on the right things? Are we making a positive difference in the things we do and the decisions we make?

This Christmas, let's all make a difference. Reach out to someone in need, look for opportunities to help others and use our time and resources well.

Last but not least, for all who celebrate Christmas, remember the real meaning and keep Christ in Christmas.

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year...

God Bless,

Ian

I cannot think of a movie where James Stewart didn't shine. I love "It's a wonderful Life" and I love old movies in general, whereas my wife disregards everything in B/W. Disagreeing on that part is OK because I have a HD-recorder (a thing used in Europe because we're always one step behind progress)!
I want to thank you (and Company) for making UltraEdit, the editor I regard the best available. I use it every day and couldn't work without it.

So, Merry Christmas, happy new year and keep them' updates coming.

Thank you for the nice Christmas message and the goodness to put Christ back in Christmas. May God Bless you and family.
Luke 2:7-14
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping
watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone
round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of
great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ
the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling
clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host
praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Ian,
Thank you for wearing your faith on your sleeve! You provide the leading software, but more than that, you are leading others (family, coworkers, clients) to their Savior! That is making a real impact. My family enjoys the movie too.
God's blessing on your family this Advent and Christmas.

Ian,

I appreciate your Christmas message every year. It is refreshing knowing that I purchased software from a company that not only makes a GREAT product but is also willing to publicly speak about Christ and not be concerned about being politically correct so it is white washed with Seasons Greetings or Happy Holidays.

Ian and the whole UltraEdit team,

May all of you have a great holiday season too. It's hard for me to believe that I've been using UltraEdit for over 10 years now. I just wish other programs I use were written with such loving care. All of you have done a fantastic job and I wish you all luck and prosperity in the coming year.

Congratulations, Ian, for recognizing what is most important in this life and for using your product's reach to say it to others at this very special time of year: Faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Commitment to your family. Commitment to loving and helping others, as our Lord told us to do.

Ian, I have an 85 year old neighbor who regularly tells me he loves me. I am 50 years old, and that gesture of kindness from him stops me in my tracks and can get this old guy misty. I know he means it, and I surely love him a great deal, too.

We can learn from folks like my neighbor. When I ask him and his wonderful wife what they have done and what was their secret to have raised their family so well and to be such sweet people who are so well loved and admired by others. Their answer: "We're just living His teachings, Tom." That about says it all. If only we all would -- more of us would joyfully give thanks and say: "It's a wonderful life!"

Thank you for your Christmas Message, and thank you for your commitment to excellence in UltraEdit and all of your IDM solutions that have served my business well through the years.

Merry Christmas, Ian, to you and your family, and the folks at IDM.

It is nice to see someone who is not ashamed to acknowledge his belief in Jesus Christ. In both your annual Christmas message and the story of IDM, you give thanks and praise to our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for continually delivering outstanding products, as a very long time user of UltraEdit, I cannot imagine my work day without this great tool.

Merry Christmas to you, your family, and the entire IDM team.
