Christmas Message From IDM Founder and President Ian D. Mead

Ian D. Mead,
President

Each year it seems amazing how quickly time flies and already Christmas is upon us. What an exciting time!

Of course, it's always a hectic time and it can be difficult to find time to really relax and enjoy the season, but it's something we must do. We all rush around looking for gifts for everyone but sometimes miss out on reflecting upon the reason for giving, Christ's Birthday.

Last year I wrote briefly on A Christmas Carol and some of the history behind it. There is a movie however that my family and I (wonderful wife and 3 wonderful girls) watch every year: It's a Wonderful Life.

From Wikipedia: "The film stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers). Clarence shows George all the lives he has touched and the contributions he has made to his community."

Each year as I watch it, my heart is truly touched as I reflect upon the difference George Bailey made on the lives of so many. The movie shows the difference in a small town had George Bailey never been born.

What difference are we making day-by-day and year-by-year in the lives of others? Are we concentrating on the right things? Are we making a positive difference in the things we do and the decisions we make?

This Christmas, let's all make a difference. Reach out to someone in need, look for opportunities to help others and use our time and resources well.

Last but not least, for all who celebrate Christmas, remember the real meaning and keep Christ in Christmas.

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year...

God Bless,

Ian

Thank you for your Christmas message Ian. We most often need reminders to keep Christ in the front of our minds and actions, and especially during this busy season. Hoping we all can make time to relax and enjoy our families, and to honor the "reason for this season". A Blessed and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Ian,

Outstanding Christmas message! I have been reflecting over my life the past few years (as tends to happen when one approaches 50) and I realized that impacting people's lives for the better is part of our reason for being. We affect those around us all the time. We need to learn how to do it on purpose. And with love.

May God continue to show favor on you and your family!

God Bless you too Ian. May we all keep Christ in Christmas and year round. If we lose sight of the true meaning, we are lost. May you and your family have a healthy, prosperous New Year as well. Marry Christmas to all....

And a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your team. May the Mother bless you New Year. :)

I've had a personal lifetime subscription to UltraEdit for quite a time now and tout it as the best editor around. Great job adding features and still keeping the simple interface available.

My favorite Christmas movie and, I think, one of the best movies ever made, is "A Christmas Story". There is not a big message overtly in the movie but it conjures up my image of the holiday, family, and the "good old days" in the USA. You may not cry but you'll laugh until you do.

Hi Ian.

I am your customer and thoroughly enjoy using your quality products. I agree with you whole heartedly on your message and point of view. Christmas is all about Christ's birthday, our savior. In this day and age, even saying Merry Christmas or the greeting is about to become extinct. It makes me feel so happy and glad to see, some body who thinks and feels like me when it comes to Christmas. Have a very merry Christmas. God Bls.

Thanks

Ian & crew,

I know there was a reason why I have been supporting you since at least version 8 of UltraEdit. I pray that you continue to keep putting out an excellent product and spreading joy this Christmas season. Without Christ, there is no reason to celebrate.
From me and mine to you and yours,

Merry Christmas

Ian - I loved your inclusion of the true meaning of Christmas in your message. As much as I strive to always make Christ the center of my life, it's so easy to become distracted by everyday happenings that a gentle and simple reminder is often met with much gratitude. May you, too, enjoy this season and especially feel the unspeakable peace that Christ offers to all who meekly and faithfully seek him.

Ian,

Like many others I want to thank you for your Christmas message. All too often we get caught up in the "presents, tinsel, and lights" and forget about the real reason for the season. I want to wish you and yours, as well as the IDM family a very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!

Thank you Ian for this wonderful message. I am proud to own the best editor product around (7 years and counting)..and knowing you are a man of faith is just "icing on the cake". From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and a very Prosperous New Year.

P.S. John 3:16 has always been one of my favorite verses in the Bible and truly defines why we celebrate this season. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Ian,

It is refreshing to see the boldness that you have in declaring the Christ of Christmas. In this secular world that we live in, it is encouraging to see those that will recognize God and his Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. God Bless you and your family.
