UCX update: The road to multi-platform

Richard Knott,
Vice President

This year marked a huge step for UltraCompare. On the Windows side of the house we released v8.00 in January which added a leap in functionality with the addition of two major new features... Find Dupes and a new Sync/Merge engine! In v8.10 (released in April) we added PDF text compare, .docx compare, and a Folder Sync Scheduler. Version 8.20 is expected this fall and will be driven primarily by maintenance and quality/performance enhancements.

The Linux version of UltraCompare was released in March, and a material point release is expected later this month which will roll in the Find Dupes and new Sync/Merge Engine (June 2011). A third release is planned for late summer which will bring in remote file/folder compare capability utilizing a native FTP client as does our Windows version today.

Those patiently awaiting the UltraCompare Mac edition will be excited to know that we expect beta to start this fall with commercial release in December or January. Upon the commercial release of our UC Mac edition, UltraCompare Professional is expected to have equal functionality on all three platforms!

Follow the UC multi-platform progress here each month with our latest news and updates!

Sincerely,

Rich
