UEStudio 09 feature request
Reply #1 on : Tue October 14, 2008, 09:40:38
Will the UEStudio 09 release have Brief keyboard emulation? This is the only feature missing that keeps several of us here from switching to UltraEdit.

Thanks,
Howard

I'm looking forward to the new release, especially the PHP debugger. And any improvements to SVN support are welcome too. Keep up the great work on such a useful product.

Can You introduce a registration of action in a script (like Excel macros) and in the creation / maintenance scripts enable the intellitip to find the commands?
This improvement can help me to use scripts for repetitive actions.
Thank you.

Structures

Will the new release be able to list the elements of a structure? This obviously saves looking back at definitions.

Watcom Support - Feature request
Reply #5 on : Fri October 17, 2008, 11:39:18
Hi,
I liked UEStudio a lot, but was a little bit disappointed about the (advertised) Watcom Support.
There was only support for a very old obsolete version.
In the meantime Watcom has become a very powerful and FREE development system.
See www.openwatcom.org
Do you intend to improve that?

brgds,

Peter

Hi Peter,

I'm sorry to hear that the compiler configuration is not compatible with
the latest version of Watcom.

We are happy to look at updating the compiler configuration to better
support newer versions of Watcom. As you may know, UEStudio's compiler
configurations are highly customizable so the issue should be
quickly resolved by simply updating the default compiler configuration
to support changes in newer versions of Watcom. Please email us at
support@idmcomp.com and we can work with you directly to support this
compiler.

Thanks,

Support

CVS/SVN enhancements
Reply #7 on : Wed November 12, 2008, 22:19:30
Richard,
it would be great if the CVS/SVN functionality could be made threaded. At the moment, if I need to do a CVS commit on a large number of modules, UES is effectively locked up until this completes.

Thanks...

Frank

Vertical line at cursor
Reply #8 on : Fri November 28, 2008, 20:47:06
A little thing that I would sometimes find immensely useful is a vertical bar at the cursor. That is, if toggled on, a vertical bar would appear at and travel with the cursor. The bar would appear the same as a column marker, but would move with the cursor. Sometimes I use UES to edit large data files for research or troubleshooting. A vertical bar at the cursor would allow easy line-up of character positions on multiple lines. This is especially helpful if, in a span of say 10 lines or so, some lines have spaces in certain columns. Rather than eyeballing between line 2 and line 15 to see if characters are lined up, I could just use the vertical bar. You can currently set column markers, but if you need to move the cursor to the right along a long line, a moving vertical bar would be invaluable when time is of the essence.

Hello,

Thanks for your comment and suggestion. We do see how some users would find this useful, and we are considering support for an "active column highlight" as well as an active line highlight in the future.

Thanks,

IDM Support

I expect a small improvement that make input easier. When I use spaces replace tab, I must press backspace several times to remove spaces. A option should be set to move cursor over several spaces produced by a tab then I can remove these spaces once.
