UltraEdit for Mac runs on all OSX systems 10.5 and later (Leopard, Snow Leopard, and Lion), with support for Intel-based processors only.
UltraEdit is a native Linux application. It does not require WINE or any other translation layer for installation and use. UEx will run on both the GNOME and KDE desktops. Select the appropriate installation package for your distribution of Linux below. If your distribution is not specifically listed, please download the .tar package.
Currently distribution-specific packages of UltraEdit for Linux are provided for the following distributions (both 32-bit and 64-bit):
- Ubuntu 10.04, 11.04 and 11.10
- Fedora 16 and 17
- OpenSUSE 12.1
- CentOS/RedHat Enterprise 5.7 and 6.1
For all other distributions, a 32 and 64 bit tar package is available. While the tar.gz package allows UltraEdit to be installed on any Linux distribution, we cannot provide support for any issues related to installation or dependencies. IDM will only guarantee support of UltraEdit on the Linux distributions specifically listed above.
Upon installation, you will be provided a 30 day trial period depending on previous usage. After this period expires, you must purchase a license to continue using the application.
