Why no "Play" button

Help with writing and playing macros

Why no "Play" button

Postby cuibel » Thu Jan 20, 2005 2:50 pm

I'm sorry this is so stupid, but why is there no simple "Play" button?
I just want to play a macro.
What do I do to just "Play" a macro?
Hit something besides "Play"???

Thank you

Load the macro list by pressing F7. Then double click on the macro. You can also specify keyboard shortcuts and access the macro list through the view menu.

I defined toolbar buttons to toggle the display of the macro and function lists. Really convenient for me.

Huh? What are you guys saying.

Im fairly sure that in a plain vanilla UE environment UE predefines F7 to insert date/time (see edit menu) and CTRL-L is predefined to bring up the macro list (see macro menu). I think what is cuibel wanted was this ctrl-L window and the ability to pick one and play it.

Also, mrainey56, please explian your comment on a toolbar item which toogles the dispaly of of the macro and function lists. I know how to create a toolbar item but I'm unfamilar with the lists your talking about and what they do and of course what your mapping to the button to get them.

If you're familiar with adding a toolbar button, then just look under the View > Views/Lists area of the Customize dialog. There are icons you can drag to the toolbar which toggle the visibility of the macro and function lists, among others.

I like to park them along the right edge of the screen, where I can turn them on and off with a mouse click. I can't possibly remember the keyboard commands for all the programs I use.

I first purchased UE when it was v6 upgrading every step along the way. I don't think I ever used that panel. Thanks for showing me the light!.

Are we using the same program?
f7 does nothing.
I still hear nothing about a "Play" button.
Is there a play button that I can use to play a macro.

Sorry about the F7 thing. I guess I reprogrammed my keys in the past and forgot they weren't default. Regardless the macro list was what you wanted. mrainey's idea of a toolbar button is good. I might do that.

cuibel - no "macromystery" is intended. UE maps many commands to keyboard short cuts. Use your mouse and click on any of UE menu items - you'll see both the menu item and its keyboard short cut. Click on "macro" and you find that UE maps "ctrl-L" to a "play again" function. Thats what was meant.
