cannot ftp from UE 11.20a eval version

I've just installed the eval version of UE 11.20a. When I try to open a file via the Ftp, I just get a message "connection failed". I can ftp successfully from the command line.

I've checked the box for log file on, but the only message is Quit--I don't get any of the standard ftp error messages.

I've tried various advanced settings, such as passive and I've tried the DNS name, the actual IP address, the full URL, etc.

Is the FTP function disabled on the eval version? Is there a way to get better debugging info for why the connection is failing?

The problem was the virus scan
