Problems selecting individual Chinese characters

I have a document with a mixture of English paragraphs and sections in simplifed Chinese.
The Chinese is displaying correctly, and I can select a complete section of it.

When I try to select an individual Chinese character, it selects a character somewhere to the right of where the cursor is.

I solved the problem by changing the font that I was using.
