Keyboard shortcut to go from one window split to the other?

Postby gmmmm » Sun Oct 10, 2004 6:29 pm

Hi,

I would really like to switch between the two window panes without having to reach for the mouse.

I suppose I could open the document twice and turn off certain alerts, but that wouldn't be the best solution for me.

Any suggestions? Any way to do this?

Thanks,
Jim.

Have you tried F6 (next window pane) and Shift+F6 (previous window pane)?

I've looked in the documentation on several different occasions for the answer, and never seen anything. I'm still using UltraEdit version 9, so maybe it went undocumented in my version? Or maybe I'm just not seeing it!

But it works. Thanks very much Manni!

I guess the reason that this isn't documented is that it is a standard Windows keyboard shortcuts. Admittedly one of the most rarely used, though.

Hi All!

Is there a keyboard shortcut for this? When I split a window, I would like an easy way to switch between splits.

Thanks for any advice!

F6 sets focus the next window pane and Shift+F6 sets the focus to previous window pane.

These are built-in key assignments which cannot be modified (in UE v10.10c). But you could override it by assigning for example Shift+F6 to an other function. So don't do that.

Since v12.20 of UltraEdit and v6.00 of UEStudio two new commands are available in the key mapping configuration dialog: FocusNextPane and FocusPreviousPane. So everyone can now assign his preferred key for switching from upper to lower pane or vice versa.
