Paste & Copy Function - ¿How it works?

Postby Koko_McCracken » Fri Apr 14, 2006 11:10 am

Hello,

I have seen a new function in UltraEdit 12.00: "Edit - Paste & Copy"

It is in grey and in the help file it is not explained, (I can't find it at least), and after a while doing experiments and trying things, I'm now able to use it and it's a very interesting option, and I would like to share it with you:

It swaps the contents of the active clipboard and the selected text, making pretty easy to interchange pieces of text without using an intermediate step.

I started writing this post because I couldn't find the use of the option, so maybe anybody had the same problem and this is useful for him.

An example:

Current active clipboard contains: abcdef
In active file is currently selected: ghkl

Pressing now Ctrl+Shift+V (Paste and Copy) results in:

Current active clipboard contains now: ghkl
In active file selected text was replaced with: abcdef
