Compare Files sets file status to changed in UE 14.20

I've just had installed UE version 14.20.0.1033 and have noticed that using the compare files option now sets any two compared files to changed ie, the file tab shows an asterisk (*) indicating that the contents have changed. It's a little annoying as i now get prompted to save changes even when i don't believe i've made any.

Is this normal?

First before looking further into this I suggest an update to v14.20.0.1035. Click on Help - Check For Updates and follow the instructions to install the hotfix.

Second I tried what you have written with v14.20.0.1033 and UltraCompare Professional (not the Lite version installed with UltraEdit) and both files are still unmodified after closing UltraCompare Professional.

I've just done the upgrade to v14.20.0.1035 and tried the compare again with the same result. However, I should add that it's FTP files only that are marked as changed when doing a compare, local files are left 'unmarked'.

Hi guys,

In addition to the change indicator appearing I also found that the Read-Only indicator goes away under the same conditions (comparing FTP'ed files). Acts the same in UE 14.20.0.1035.

I upgraded to v14.20 (actually 14.20.1.1001) and this cured the file change issue when comparing an FTP file. I'm sorry, i didn't see your post before i submitted the email to IDM support. If you haven't done so already, it might be worth you upgrading to see if it fixes your issue.
