Maximum file size

Using windows version, XP with NTFS volumes, I'm unable to compare files in the 7 GB range (cannot open error message).

Smaller files compare fine, but I don't know where the file size max lies. If, indeed, that is the problem at all.

Is this a known issue?

I guess, the limit is 4 GB because a 32 bit unsigned variable has a maximum value of 4.294.967.296 which is exactly 4 GB. Never tested it, but according to your experience I think a 32 bit unsigned variable is used inside UC for file position information.

Well, which version of UltraCompare do you have?

Maybe now with v4.00 the maximum file size limit is increased?
