Background Colors for read only files

Postby pkathy10 » Fri Aug 18, 2006 2:22 pm

I see there is a lot of control over color in UE, but I don't see what I need.

I often open reference files as read only. It would be great visual aid if I could have the background color for read only files be a differenct color then the ones I am actually editing.

Is this something I can configure?

Asap no way !

Ask IDM for a feature request if you think this was important.

Have you noticed that a read only file shows R/O in the status bar at bottom of the window.

And if you have the command Edit - Read Only (Toggle Read Only) in the toolbar you also can easily see if the current file is read only or not.

This maybe helps you although a different background color setting for files currently read only would also be a good idea.

Yeah, I would like to see such a feature.

Another option would be to show the file icon in UE explorer with a lock or in a different color.

This feature was added with UltraEdit v16.00 and UEStudio v10.00, which I find very useful.
