Hex Mode viewing options

Postby DarkKnight » Sat Nov 20, 2004 11:56 pm

I've looked around and can't find a way to do this.

Is there any way to get Hex Mode to display all characters on the right? Instead of just the printable ones and .s for the 'non-printable' ones?

You can see what I'm talking about by going to the 'View' menu and picking ASCII table. Those characters on the far left is what I want to display on the right side of the Hex editing window. The smiley guys, card suits, notes, etc.

I tried changing my font to Terminal, and a few other things, but I can't get it to display all of the characters no matter what I do.

My problem is that I'm much more familiar with looking at hex data as a set of characters than as hex values, (I had an old DOS hex editor I really liked which showed all characters.)

Thanks much if anyone has any information.

There is no option to show all bytes as characters in hex mode. Write an email to IDM with a feature request. Maybe IDM will add such an option in a future release.
