Need Help displaying/editing Chinese Big5 in UE10.10a

Postby JoshBoy » Mon Jan 17, 2005 8:54 pm

When I try to edit a web template (*.htm) in Trad. Chinese Big5 Coding in UE 10.10a, I cannot read the chinese characters. They appear in gibberish.

If I try to type chinese, they appear as '???'.

Please help! I'm using Windows XP SP2. Greatly appreciated.

I may be real late on the subject. I just found the answer to fix the same problem I was facing. Thought I would share it with you all.

It's actually quite simple.

Goto "Control Panel", "Regional and Language Options". Click on the 3rd tab - "Advanced". The top box reads: "Language for non-Unicode programs". Choose the language you will be using for those that shows gibberish in your UE editor. Click on OK twice. The dialog box will ask if you want to restart the computer for the change to be effective. Choose YES to restart your computer and make immediate change.

That's all, folks. :)
