Registration of UEM doesn't work when copying from MS Outlook

Postby robin.mousley » Thu Dec 23, 2010 1:49 am

Bought UE for Mac the second it was available.
Quite prepared to put up with a few glitches expected for a ver 1.0 product.
But... it won't register me.
I've tried cutting and pasting username and key separately and using the convenient "copy from email" feature. Neither works.

Anyone else have this problem?

UltraEdit support just supplied the answer.

I use MS Office Outlook as my email client.
If I copied the registration message direct from Outlook, the registration process didn't work; but when I pasted it into UltraEdit, then recopied and pasted into the registration dialog, hey presto...

I thought I'd left the Mickeysoft issues behind me when I moved to Mac - but then I shouldn't have bought MS Office for the Mac, should I?

Still, smiling once more.

Similar problem for me but I was using Apple's e-mail client. The e-mail has two spaces near the ~ character and the dialog is expecting only one. Remove the second space and try again. It worked for me.
