Hi,
I had a file with the xattr of comp.apple.FinderInfo (it came in from email).
I edited it with UE for Mac ... the newly saved version also had that attribute (that's ok).
I did a file close, then terminated UE for Mac, removed the xattr (via xattr -d com.apple.FinderInfo foo).
I ran UE for Mac again ... opened the file, made a change, saved it, and ... poof, the attribute was back! That's bad!
Closed file, exited UE for Mac, removed the attribute. I then *copied* (via Terminal "cp" command) the file to "fum".
Ran UE for Mac, opened fum, made a change, saved it, and ... no attribute!
I.e., I now know that UE for Mac isn't applying the xattr to all files it saves.
It appears that UE for Mac is improperly remembering file related information across a file close / file open period.
Regardless of whether or not this is easy to fix, I'd like to also see a new preferences setting:
[ ] Always save files with *NO* extended attributes
thanks, Stan
