Document window does not get focus after closing Find dialog with ESC

Postby hff135 » Fri Dec 14, 2012 12:13 pm

When I search for some text, the find-and-replace window comes up. I press 'next' until I find what I'm looking for and then I press ESC to get rid of the find-and-replace window.

At this point, I expect my focus to be transferred back to the editor but it doesn't. I have to click the mouse in the window to do this.

Is there any way to have focus automatically transferred back to the editor after I dismiss the find-and-replace window?

Nobody from the UEM user community has replied to this topic up to now and so I have decided to write a reply although I'm only using UltraEdit on Windows.

First, I suggest to report this problem to IDM support by email by clicking on email us directly at top of this page. Add to your report also the version of UEM and the version of MAC OS. And you should add also all search settings as defined in the preferences dialog.

Second, does UEM has on Find dialog an option with name Close this dialog after find like Windows version of UltraEdit?

If this option is also available in UEM, I suggest as workaround for the problem to check it. This results in closing the dialog after finding the first occurrence of the search string or expression. You can use the command Find Next (hotkey is F3 on Windows UE) to find downwards other occurrences of the searched string respectively expression. I hope that with closing the Find dialog automatically the input focus is set to the active document window.
