File Change Detection

Postby damick » Fri Dec 17, 2004 11:05 am

I have configured UltraEdit to automatically update changed files, although it seems that a window refresh is required to trigger the auto update feature (ie. switch between applications, etc.). Is there some way to configure UltraEdit to update automatically without having to do something to trigger a refresh or could this be added as an enhancement for a future release. I am looking for functionality similar to the Unix 'tail -f' command. I would like to watch the window update automatically as an external process changes the viewed file.

Was this worked out in the 11.0 version with "Force Update" in the configuration options?

I upgraded to v11 to get this functionality and it works very good, just like 'tail -f' in Unix.
