How to get back to the "lines containing find string window"

Postby Murali » Wed Sep 21, 2005 8:23 pm

This is not exactly a search question but more a question of how to navigate the search results using the keyboard without having to use the mouse.

I like to use the Search function with the "List lines containing string" option checked. The list of results is displayed in a pop-up window called "lines containg find strings". I am able to scroll up and down using the keyboard arrow keys or PgUp/PgDwn keys. Highlighting an entry in this pop-up window and hitting Enter will take me to the appropriate location in the file. The window context at this point switches to the text editor while the pop-up is grayed out. This is perfectly fine because it allows me to make changes in the file at the appropriate location. Once I make the changes, I want to go back to my pop-up so I can continue scrolling as needed (or even simply to close the pop-up), and the only way I can do this is by using the mouse. I was wondering if there existed a keyboard shortcut which would allow me to do the same.

I am using Ultraedit 11.10b+3. Thank you.

The hotkey for this is a windows standard hotkey and that's the reason, why it can't or should not be used for a manual assignment in any program.

The hotkey is: Alt+F6
