UEStudio integrated development environment tour: FTP/SFTP
The UEStudio tour is intended to guide you through some of the advanced IDE features of the application. UEStudio includes all of the features of UltraEdit, the world's best text editor, which are not covered here.
UEStudio includes support for both standard FTP and SFTP (SSH2). When SFTP is selected, all transfers are encrypted and the encryption algorithm is negotiated with the server. If this is set the transfer dialogs will show a "lock" symbol indicating the transfer is secure.
FTP support in UEStudio is highly configurable. Users may create accounts specifying user names and passwords and SFTP accounts may also use passwords and/or private keys as desired. The keys used should be in OpenSSH format and may be RSA or DSA type keys.

Currently UEStudio includes support for the following server types:
- AIX
- AS400
- Auto
- BS2000
- HP3000/VeSoft Security
- File Name Only - this takes the first field returned and displays it as the filename
- MVS
- OS9000
- Stratus VOS - The "Full Path Leading Character" should be set to "%" and the "Path/Node Separator Character" should be set to ">".
- Tandem Guardian
- UNIX
- VAX/VMS
