UltraCompare File/Folder Compare Latest Changes

The list below contains the latest changes for UltraCompare Professional. This is a brief listing of new or enhanced features of the application. For a more thorough look at what has been added, take the tour of the new features.

UltraCompare Lite users: These changes do not apply to UltraCompare Lite. See the difference between UltraCompare Professional and Lite.

UltraCompare v7.20 changes (2010-07-12)

CRC support for comparing FTP folders
- Quickly diff files/folders on your server without downloading them
- If CRC isn't supported on the server, UltraCompare will default to a basic (size and timestamp) compare only
Ability to hide individual files/folders from the results (saved between sessions)
Folder Mode Display Enhancements
- Display is now divided into separate panes with draggable separator
- Column width customizations now saved
- Optionally synchronize column width changes
- Optionally automatically resize column width
- Lock column width
Folder Mode compare enhancements
- Smart mode "Text ignore options" dialog now accessible in folder mode session properties dialog
- Ignore timestamp option now available for "Full" mode folder compares
Improved file path handling
- Long file or folder paths are now shortened with elipsis (...)
- Permanently dismiss prompt for non-existent history paths
Text Editing Improvements
- Double-click to select single words
- Triple-click to select entire line

UltraCompare v7.10 changes (2010-04-05)

New FTP functionality and dialogs

- Ability to compare root directories on FTP server

*This feature requires FTP account sharing be enabled in UE/UES. FTP account sharing in UE/UES will be available in future versions. When enabled this feature stores the FTP account and settings data at: %APPDATA%\IDMComp\Common\FTP Accounts.

New dockable/auto-hideable workspace manager
Explorer tab (workspace manager)

Session tab (workspace manager)
- Save your text, folder, or binary compare sessions and manage them in the Session tab of the workspace manager
- Launch/execute sessions from the session manager
