Folder Compare Features

View Next/Prev Difference

Navigate quickly between directory compare differences by clicking on the "go to next difference" and "go to previous difference".

View Directory Compare Results in the Differences Summary/Icon Pane

The differences summary on the left provides a quick visual overview of the status of the compared directories. The compare summary will indicate whether compared directories and compared files are newer, older, or contain identical content, and whether items are present or absent in the compared directories. Filter your directory compare results, using view filters, to make navigation of your compare results easier.

Quickly Merge Differences Between Directories with Quick Merge

Click the quick merge icons to merge individual differences, or click the merge all button to merge all differences. Note: this is also available in the context menu.

Compare Subdirectories with Recursive Compare

Configure directory compare mode to display the contents of the subdirectory compare in the top level window or a click-through directory structure when doing a recursive compare. Additionally, recursive compare will cause the selected directories to be compared a second time so that more information is provided regarding subdirectories found in the specified search directories.

Save/Execute Directory Compare Profile

UltraCompare offers user profiles which allow you to set options such as directory paths for compare, output options, ignore options, etc and execute them when needed. Use this time saving feature for your frequent directory compare operations to enhance the ease of use offered by UltraCompare.

View the Active File in the Preview File Pane

The Preview file pane allows you to see the contents of the active file in your directory compare. Simply right click to toggle between the first or second directory file.

Easily Switch Compare Views

Toggle easily between folder compare view types (all differences, only differences, only matches) by clicking on the All, Just Differences, and Just Matching icons.

Change Compare Modes

Switch between all compare types: text compare, binary compare, and folder compare mode - from the main toolbar.

Tile Preference

View folder comparison results tiled either horizontally or vertically depending on your preference.

Additional Folder Compare Features

Zip file compare support

Compare your compressed zip file archives: UltraCompare will extract the contents of your .zip archives, .rar archives, and Java .jar files to a temporary directory and perform a directory compare.

FTP/SFTP File/Folder Compare

Access FTP files from a remote server. Use UltraCompare to execute a FTP directory compare and sync your local and remote directories. You can even use it to create a local backup of your website. Visit our FTP directory compare power tip to set this up in UltraCompare Professional.

Shell Integration

Shell integration allows you to use UltraCompare in the right-click context menu, in explorer, to compare folders. Simly select the folders and then launch UltraCompare... all from within Windows explorer.

Reporting

UltraCompare also gives you directory compare reporting/output capabilities. Configure folder compare output to print and save directory differences in context, differences of one directory only, and side by side comparison.
