Custom user-defined templates

Step 1: Go to Templates

Go to Advanced -> Display/Modify Templates

Step 2: Define your Template

Go to the Template Dropdown and select a template number which is not already in use.

For this example, we used number 30, but you may use any number you would like.

Step 3: Name your Template

Go to the Template Name text box and name your template appropriately.

Step 4: Create your Template

Type (or copy/paste) your content and click OK when finished.

For further information on "special text strings" which are already defined by UltraEdit (ie. time, date, etc) please see the Help file.

Step 5: Using the Template

Go to Advanced -> Insert Template

This will bring up the Insert Template dialog box which lists all the user defined templates. Scroll to find your template, click once to highlight it, and click to Insert.

Step 6: Congratulations!

You have just created and used your first template.

Additional Tip: User Templates

You may also use the hotkeys for the 'individual templates'.
