Secure email cleanup
UltraSentry supports a robust email cleanup that can be used to securely delete email from your hard drive. UltraSentry's secure email cleanup supports Eudora, Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, and Thunderbird.
In order to complete Outlook/Outlook Express mail cleanup in a secure way, UltraSentry performs an advanced disk wiping procedure. Email cleaning operations may take an extended period of time due to this special operation. When running any profile that includes "Wipe Unused/Free Disk Space" it is highly recommended you close all running applications and schedule it when you are not planning on using your computer.
Select the email cleanup option from the main toolbar, you will be presented with options to clean: Eudora, Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, and Thunderbird.
When you select Thunderbird or Eudora, UltraSentry will prompt you whether you wish to clean the deleted email. This differs (slightly) from the process for Outlook - which we will discuss below.
Proceed when asked to clean the deleted email.
UltraSentry will then prompt you as to which profile data you wish to delete. Select the appropriate options then click OK.
UltraSentry will then complete the cleaning operation.
The Outlook cleaning operation is a two-step process. The cleaning process requires that you first empty the Deleted Items folder - proceed as instructed in the Outlook email prompt.
After you have completed the steps outlined in Step 1, click Next.
You will now see Step 2, click Finish to complete the secure deletion of your Outlook email.
