UEStudio integrated development environment tour: diff/compare tool

The UEStudio tour is intended to guide you through some of the advanced IDE features of the application. UEStudio includes all of the features of UltraEdit, the world's best text editor, which are not covered here.

UEStudio tour: diff/compare tool

Complemented by the built-in power of UltraCompare Lite as an advanced differences tool, UEStudio allows the developer or integration manager to examine, manage, deconflict, and compare the source code. Combined with the powerful CVS version controller, users (as well as entire programming teams) can manage projects, vast collections of documents, and stores of websites within a single environment.

UEStudio includes UltraCompare Lite as an integrated diff tool that may be used to compare files and spot code differences. To invoke UltraCompare Lite, simply select Compare Files from the file menu or directly from the main toolbar using the UC icon. Upon launch, the last two files opened/displayed in UE/UES will automatically populate the compare files dialog as can be seen below.

UltraCompare Lite options

You may need three-way file/folder/Zip compare and merge operations. In this case, you would want to look into UltraCompare Professional. Once the professional version is installed, the menu and toolbar icon in UEStudio will invoke the professional version and activate the full functionality of UltraCompare Professional.
