Much of what you see in UltraEdit today are features that have been born out of necessity. It may seem like a complete and fully developed editor today, but that is only because there was a need for them throughout its years of development—30+ years to be exact!
In a similar fashion, UltraFTP and UltraCompare both started out as rudimentary tools and even singular integrated features inside the text editor. However, our users’ demands have since changed and the tools have consequently evolved into the more complete, standalone tools that we know and love today.
UltraCompare is a diff tool that comes free with every UltraEdit license. It has powerful file, folder, PDF, Word, and Excel compare capabilities. And even folder sync, and binary/hex compare.

After listening to our users and seeing interest signals, we found that many of you wanted the convenience of using our powerful compare tool inside a popular IDE. Now, we are delighted to announce early access for UltraCompare for Visual Studio 2022!
Like a throwback to UltraEdit’s primary years, the early access version will be starting with basic functionality and will prioritize developing what is necessary for its users. So, we are once again looking forward to getting your feedback and suggestions so we can make UltraCompare for Visual Studio the best.
